By forming Mercury with her classmates, she was able to share the knowledge that students didn’t know much about. Mercury makes student loans feel less cryptic, and by creating an app that not only helped the user pay off debt in a seamless way, but by doing so in a way that made sense, it would bring customers back.

Going through school a second time around, Daniella was already well versed in student loan repayment plans. With an accumulated total of about $70,000 in student loans (40k in public and 30k in private), she knew she had to come up with a solution to pay down her debt as quickly as possible.

Having paid for previous student loans, Daniella knew that managing payments between multiple lender websites is a lot to remember month to month. She wanted to create a system that merged all of her student loans together, to create a seamless way to manage student repayment plans in a single app. By doing a lot of research on how payment plans worked, knowing about subsidized vs unsubsidized, private vs federal, she set out to find solutions on how to pay off her plans the easiest.
