As a senior, student loans Carlos was concerned about his future and the lack of knowledge he had about his loans. His total accumulation would be around 18,000 dollars with interest and he had no strategy, so entering the Mercury project was a no brainer.

Entering the position of project manager, he delegated the roles but made sure the project focus was on the audience and creating a product that would be beneficial for the audience. As project manager I set deadlines for interviewing and user testing to keep the project constantly flowing and evolving. For the interviews I designed the questions that would allow us to ease into the difficult questions of student loans and how they made our audience felt. I also entered the role of crafting the information architecture. I felt as though before we could even design a single screen we needed to create an architecture that felt user-friendly and made our users comfortable.

Crafting an in depth information architecture (or flowchart) allowed to test our UX without having to consider UI or creating complicated prototypes. Progressing the UX and simultaneously testing it on our audience created a healthy conversation between our team and our audience. Vigorously testing the architecture of the application allowed for a easier UI creation as we understood what our audience needed and how to properly stagger our interface.
